Description Joe Orton 2008-04-03 06:33:27 EDT
+++ This bug was initially created as a clone of Bug #266441 +++

Description of problem:
PHP 5 has a hard-coded copy of the timezone database in the "date" extension.
It should be possible to change this to load the data from /usr/share/zoneinfo.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
5.1.6-12.el5
Comment 1 John Newbigin 2008-04-03 07:31:21 EDT
Anyone needing a workaround (Like us poor AEST folk) can try installing
http://csg.ict.swin.edu.au/redhat/premonition/el4/php-timezone-2008.2-1.el4.i386.rpm
Comment 2 Joe Orton 2008-07-14 04:54:34 EDT
This is fixed in 5.1.6-3.el4s1.9 and later:
