Every time I want to send a file from my mobile to laptop, I need to run
gnome-obex-server. A new icon appears in the tray (which is basically useless,
as there are no further options underneath), next to gnome-bluetooth icon
sitting there by default.
That's odd. I don't see a point of running extra app just to receive files, and
I think that standard gnome-bluetooth icon/app should handle it out of the box,
in the same manner as it handles other sub-services (like
Removal of gnome-obex-server was done by upstream maintainer Bastien Nocera in
Rawhide - with comment "Remove gnome-obex-server, we should use gnome-user-share
now". So gnome-obex-server is replaced in rawhide/f9. Adding upstream maintainer
to CC, anyway I think that is not good idea to make any bigger changes (like
integrating gnome-obex-server somewhere) in F8, so I think this bugzilla will
get closed(wontfix/notabug/upstream...or whatever).
In Fedora 9, the Bluetooth file sharing is integrated in gnome-user-share (the
"File sharing" preferences menu item).
And the subject line should have been: "Make gnome-obex-server as a part of
bluez-gnome". It's already part of gnome-bluetooth...
If that issue is going to be solved in F9, then that's totally fine. It's not a
big priority, just a little annoyance leading to a feature request, actually.
Thanks for prompt reply on this. :)

Thanks, I'll wait for F9 then :)
