Description Jean-Pierre Rupp 2008-04-14 03:17:57 EDT
Description of problem:

When trying to print to my HP Deskjet D1460, this gets printed in the logs:
Apr 14 09:03:13 astromech Deskjet_D1400_series?serial=TH78P361WJ04Y2:
prnt/backend/hp.c 496: unable to connect hpssd socket 2207: Connection refused

This printer was _working_ a few days ago. This problem started this week.
Probably it has to do with upgrades.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):

hplip-2.8.2-1.fc8

How reproducible:

Connect a HP Deskjet D1400 series printer and try to print a document. Watch
/var/log/messages
Comment 1 Tim Waugh 2008-04-14 04:51:32 EDT
You should still be able to print even with that message (which, strangely, is
normal).

Please run this command:

  /usr/share/system-config-printer/troubleshoot/__init__.py

and follow the prompts. You will probably get a page of diagnostic information
to paste in here.
Comment 2 Jean-Pierre Rupp 2008-05-13 01:56:35 EDT
Nevermind, the printer is working properly. There was one particular document
that didn't want to get printed. For the rest everything is OK. It's a cheap
printer that sometimes refuses to print certain specific files, but that's
another bug. I'll try to reproduce to open a new bug report. You can close this one.
