compiz (core) - Fatal: No manageable screens found on display :0.0

1. Either attempt to enable desktop effects or start compiz from the command
line with compiz --replace.
Cannot attach itself to the display.
This works in F8.
I will attach lspci and X.org logs. The system is Dell Inspiron 6400 with
embedded Intel graphics. I have two such machines and they both cannot start compiz.

Changing version to '9' as part of upcoming Fedora 9 GA.
More information and reason for this action is here:
Indeed, this is still a problem in Fedora 9 release.
Strangely enough, on my other Dell Inspiron 6400, with Intel graphics but 1280 x
800 screen size, compiz runs just fine. Go figure...
Unfortunately, there is no resolution string of USERISANIDIOT, so I am closing
as NOTABUG :-( The solution is, of course:
gconftool-2 --set --type bool /apps/metacity/general/compositing_manager false
(hence the the message "Could not acquire compositing manager selection")
