Description Hans Erickson 2008-04-29 15:52:42 UTC
From Bugzilla Helper:
User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686 (x86_64); en-US; rv:1.8.1.3) Gecko/20070309 Firefox/2.0.0.3

Description of problem:
I have the need to display the boot process to a custom LCD display. It would be nice if RHGB allowed an external command (/etc/rhgb/rhgb-external) to be called that would be able to redirect the boot status to an arbitrary device. RHGB would start this command, if present, and write simple text statuses for progress and pulse to the standard input of the command. The command, which could be a script or a link to another location, could parse the status and redirect it to another device as needed.

Patch of suggested implementation to follow.
