Description Fabio Massimo Di Nitto 2008-05-26 06:44:32 EDT
Description of problem:

(i686)root@node11:~# mount -t gfs2 /dev/etherd/e2.0p1 /mnt/gfs2
/sbin/mount.gfs2: error mounting /dev/etherd/e2.0p1 on /mnt/gfs2: No such device

same on parisc. All 64bit arches can mount without problems.

The device is valid as any other tool can access it without problems or mounting
the same device with another FS.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):

2.6.26 git as of: b3733034f113a4119f734b84e94180a42c8bc1a1

How reproducible:

Steps to Reproduce:
1. try to mount on x86 or parisc or any 32 bit architecture.
Actual results:

Fails to mount

Expected results:

Should mount

Additional info:

12942 <... read resumed> "hostdata=jid=3:id=65537:first=0\0"..., 256) = 256
12942 mount("/dev/etherd/e2.0p1", "/mnt/gfs2", "gfs2", 0,
"v,hostdata=jid=3:id=65537:first="...) = -1 ENODEV (No such device)
12942 write(3, "mount_result /mnt/gfs2 gfs2 -1\0\0"..., 256) = 256

strac'ing mount.gfs2, the call to mount(2) fails so i can only assume a kernel
issue at this point.
