Checked upstream and did not find a matching bug. Please report at http://bugs.kde.org then add upstream info to this report. We will monitor upstream for resolution. Thanks
I cannot find kchmviewer in bugs.kde.org. I noticed that kchmviewer has a beta3 release while mine is beta2 from the repositories.
I can reproduce the issue. I'll try to do a update in rawhide and test it, though at that time qt-devel seems to be broken in rawhide.
where should i report this bug for mainstream version. Are you guys going to roll out beta3 version of it?
I have a build in rawhide ready which seems to work. I'll do the rebuild and pushes as soon as possible after some testing.
I have committed in cvs but koji seems to have issues. I don't have internet access until monday, so anybody can build in rawhide, and if the build succeed, push to F-9, rebuild and push through bodhi. Or you can also wait until monday.
when will the package be released
Jithin: after the infrastructure problems are solved.
Everything is back to the normal, but I still can't build in rawhide due to Bug 460828.
I'd suggest you manually add the missing BR's, until we have a chance to fully diagnose the excessive linking issues in kdelibs (and elsewhere).
Same here, before upgrade to Fedora 9 it worked well: [harry@nb-rhsoft:/data/dokumentationen]$ kchmviewer mysql5.chm KCHMViewWindowMgr::findTab did not find tab Abgebrochen [harry@nb-rhsoft:/data/dokumentationen]$ rpm -qa | grep kchmviewer kchmviewer-4.0-0.2.beta2.fc9.i386 [harry@srv-rhsoft:/data/dokumentationen]$ kchmviewer mysql5.chm KCHMViewWindowMgr::findTab did not find tab Abgebrochen [harry@srv-rhsoft:/data/dokumentationen]$ rpm -qa | grep kchmviewer kchmviewer-4.0-0.2.beta2.fc9.x86_64
Hey when's the fixed package going to be released?
(In reply to comment #10) > I'd suggest you manually add the missing BR's, until we have a chance to fully > diagnose the excessive linking issues in kdelibs (and elsewhere). There are many missing BR, including library I don't know at all. Is there a way to know beforehand which BR are needed?
I only use rawhide, so I can only test there. If somebody using F-9 wants to rebuild and test, just do it.
Nothing easier than trial-and-error, if you don't have the cmake-fu to untangle the details.
kchmviewer-4.0-0.2.beta2 What is now with this bugreport? WHY must here be a beta which is not working instead a well running version that was in fedora 8? > I only use rawhide, so I can only test there IS THIS A JOKE? Get VirtualBox or a VMware-Product You can not build packages with beta-versions and drop them to the system without an environment to debug this crap! I'm php-developer and since kchmviewer does not work and i must use the online-html-version every day i would like to kill someone :-(
(In reply to comment #16) > kchmviewer-4.0-0.2.beta2 > What is now with this bugreport? > WHY must here be a beta which is not working instead > a well running version that was in fedora 8? In F-8 the kde is kde3, in later fedora versions it is kde4. > > I only use rawhide, so I can only test there > > IS THIS A JOKE? > Get VirtualBox or a VMware-Product I am a volunteer, and I will not do complicate things to work around other packages bugs. By chance I have had access to a F-9 box in the mean time, but the issue in Bug 460828 is also present here. Also I have comaintainers exactly for this purpose, because I only have a rawhide box to test. If you want to become a co-maintainer to take care of other versions, you're welcome. In the mean time, I accept patches. > You can not build packages with beta-versions and > drop them to the system without an environment to > debug this crap! I can. If you want to help me maintain my packages better, you're welcome. You can even become the primary maintainer of kchmviewer, no problem with that, do you volunteer? > I'm php-developer and since kchmviewer does not work and i must use the > online-html-version every day i would like to kill someone :-( Calm down and instead of killing people provide patches. This is how free software works. Never complain unless you have a tested and sane patch than I don't want to apply. I would even accept an 'insane' patch along what Rex proposes in Comment #10, but I won't certainly do it myself.
Maybe another possibility would be not to have kde4 support. Also accepting patches.
> In F-8 the kde is kde3, in later fedora versions it is kde4. Have you tried the old non-beta build against kde3libs which are shipped with fedora? Amarok, krusader and some other KDE3-Applications are running fine with kde4 What helps a kde4 app which is NOT working? Sorry i'm webdeveloper and can not program in c++, but anyways i have some vmwares to rebuild src.rpms with some changed flags - so i can not understand to build and release without having the target-os running

Now reverting to the old kchmviewer would involve epochs, which I'd like to avoid. > What helps a kde4 app which is NOT working? I am currently trying to rebuild without kde4 support, after all it was like this for t e previous version and it works.

kchmviewer-4.0-0.3.beta3.fc9.i386.rpm is working as well. But, the update came quite late. Anyway, better late than never.
