Description Need Real Name 2001-06-26 17:02:19 EDT
From Bugzilla Helper:
User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux 2.4.2-2 i686; en-US; rv:0.9)
Gecko/20010507

Description of problem:
When I try to use the tape drive, I get this error message at console and
in dmesg:
st0: Error 26030000 (sugg. bt 0x20, driver bt 0x6, host bt 0x3).

Here is the relevant content of /proc/scsi/scsi
Attached devices:
Host: scsi1 Channel: 00 Id: 00 Lun: 00
Vendor: ADIC Model: Scalar AIT 480 Rev: 6.05
Type: Medium Changer ANSI SCSI revision: 02
Host: scsi1 Channel: 00 Id: 01 Lun: 00
Vendor: SONY Model: SDX-500C Rev: t1e7
Type: Sequential-Access ANSI SCSI revision: 02
Host: scsi1 Channel: 00 Id: 02 Lun: 00
Vendor: SONY Model: SDX-500C Rev: t1e7
  Type: Sequential-Access ANSI SCSI

How reproducible:
Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1.Have the same hardware as me
2.as root go "mt -f /dev/st0 status"
3.If you're at the console look at your screen, otherwise look at the
message in dmesg

Actual Results: You get the error message in dmesg:
st0: Error 26030000 (sugg. bt 0x20, driver bt 0x6, host bt 0x3).

Expected Results: I expect the kernel to be able to work with my SCSI tape
drive :)

Additional info:

I don't know what to put as Severity.

The hardware doesn't function, this seems pretty serious.
