Description of problem: I'm trying to get my HP LaserJet 4ML to work in Fedora 10 Rawhide. I have the hplip package installed and the printer connected through my parallel port. When I run hp-setup it tells me it can't find my printer. I've attached the output from hp-check at the end of this. ANy chance we'll see hplip-2.8.10 any time soon? Compile-time check mode (-c or --compile): Use this mode before compiling the HPLIP supplied tarball (.tar.gz or .run) to determine if the proper dependencies are installed to successfully compile HPLIP. 2. Run-time check mode (-r or --run): Use this mode to determine if a distro supplied package (.deb, .rpm, etc) or an already built HPLIP supplied tarball has the proper dependencies installed to successfully run. 3. Both compile- and run-time check mode (-b or --both) (Default): This mode will check both of the above cases (both compile- and run-time dependencies). Did you try installing it using system-config-printer (System->Administration->Printing) or some other way? Please run the trouble shooter: System->Administration->Printing, then Help->Troubleshoot. Attach the troubleshoot.txt file here.
Wow... I am such a dork, I am so sorry! :S I used the system-config-printer instead of the hp-setup I was trying to before and it works great now! Thanks.
