Description Thomas Canniot 2008-11-13 23:12:48 UTC
Description of problem:
Trying to fix an "xorg is getting slower and slower problem", I tried to boot with the nomodeset kernel option.
I could see the plymouth text boot sequence and then saw aretefacts all over the screen, hung, instead of gdm.
Had to do a hard reboot as the keyboard was unresponsive.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
xorg-x11-drv-ati-6.9.0-38.fc10.i386
kernel-2.6.27.5-101.fc10.i686

How reproducible:
Always with nomodeset option

I forgot to mention that I don't have any /etc/X11/xorg.conf file.

Thanks
