* alsa-utils-1.0.18-6.fc10.ppc

snd-powermac fails to load properly either automatically or manually. 

The sequence
* su -
* rmmod snd-powermac
* modprobe snd-powermac
* dmesg

offers some information:

ALSA sound/core/init.c:183: cannot find the slot for index 0 (range 0-0), error: -16
snd_powermac: probe of snd_powermac failed with error -12

As of 18Jan09 the problem has ceased to exist.
