Description Cao, Chen 2009-01-15 07:32:14 UTC
Created attachment 329072 [details]
the calc file that contains the Irish punts numbers

Description of problem:
1.cannot convert files in some directory
select convert 'Complete directory', the conversion just failed
to start. the message given by OOo is:
    'Progress
        Retrieving the relevant documents...
            converting the document...'
and the 'Conversion status' just does not change.
no file created in the 'target directory'.

2.cannot convert single file.
when I choose to convert a single file, OOo always wants me to
    select a file for editing.
    the information given out is:
'Please select a OpenOffice.org Calc document for editing!'

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
OpenOffice.org 3.0.0-9-10.fc10

How reproducible:
100% reproducible.

Steps to Reproduce:
1.cannot convert files in some directory
    1) File -> Wizards -> Euro Converter,
    2) choose 'Complete directory',
and point the 'source directory' to the directory that contains
    the file punts.sxc.
    3) leave the checkboxes unchanged (or you check whatever you like).
    4) point the 'Target directory' to the directory you'd like to
    hold the result.
    5) click 'Convert'
2.cannot convert single file.
    1) File -> Wizards -> Euro Converter
    2) choose 'Single OpenOffice.org Calc document',
    3) point the 'Source Document' to the file punts.sxc
    4) check the checkboxes you like or check no one,
and point the 'Target directory' to the directory you'd like
    to hold the result.
    5) click 'Convert'

Actual results:
1.cannot convert files in some directory
select convert 'Complete directory', the conversion just failed
to start. the message given by OOo is:
    'Progress
        Retrieving the relevant documents...
            converting the document...'
and the 'Conversion status' just does not change.
no file created in the 'target directory'.

2.cannot convert single file.
when I choose to convert a single file, OOo always wants me to
    select a file for editing.
    the information given out is:
'Please select a OpenOffice.org Calc document for editing!'

Expected results:
1.convert files in some directory
convert the files in the directory from currency Irish punt to
euro, and store the files in the 'Target directory'.
2.convert single file.
convert the given file from currency Irish punt to
euro, and store the result in the 'Target directory'.

Additional info:
the file for testing punts.sxc, from
<http://qa.openoffice.org/testcase/samples/sample_file_types.zip>
and I attach the file with this report.

Yeah, we reported this upstream before, but they didn't get around to doing anything about it yet. Maybe if I have a look over the other conversions from the old info system to the new one we might have a shot at doing it outselves

Lets give that a go, will be in >= 3.0.1-15.2.fc11
