The version of eclipse-mylyn in F-10 doesn't seem to show flags in queries against bugzilla.redhat.com, nor does it allow changing them. :( also, it doesn't seem to let you close bugs... it accepts that you changed it, but when you sync, nothing happens. From what I can see there is a newer mylyn version that handles this, we just need to update. Would it be possible to do so please?
I see that Alexander Kurtakov did the last few updates on this package, so adding him to CC for input. :)
There are issues with the handling of flags. There are also issues with custom fields that Red Hat bugzilla has. I've been meaning to package up a newer build for testing. I'll try to get to it next week.
Excellent. Let me know if you would like me to assist testing...
I'm trying out my 3.0.4 test packages. Can I make a comment here? Evidently not ("A legal Partner was not set"). I guess I'll try to backport patches from the 3.1 branch. Specifically: https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=226851 https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=252297 https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=186265
I made test RPMs of HEAD but I can't comment. I get a weird "Suspicious action" error from RHBZ. Sigh. I'll take it up with upstream.
Created attachment 344295 [details] Error log Yes, unfortunately can reproduce ... it is possible to add comments to bugs, but it is not possible to close one.
BTW, forgot to add I have these packages: [matej@viklef tmp]$ rpm -qa eclipse\* eclipse-platform-3.4.2-9.fc11.x86_64 eclipse-mylyn-3.1.0-3.fc11.noarch [matej@viklef tmp]$ rpm -qa \*openjdk\* java-1.6.0-openjdk-1.6.0.0-20.b14.fc11.x86_64 [matej@viklef tmp]$

This sounds like another difference between Red Hat bugzilla and upstream when it comes to Mylyn support. Some sort of "resolution" vs. "closed"-type thing? Upon trying to submit this from Mylyn, I get: Red Hat Bugzilla has suffered an internal error. Please save this page and send it to bugzilla-owner with details of what you were doing at the time this message appeared. URL: about:blank A legal Resolution was not set.
Created an external bug on Eclipse hoping to converse with the Mylyn people on ways to fix bug resolution.
This message is a reminder that Fedora 10 is nearing its end of life. Approximately 30 (thirty) days from now Fedora will stop maintaining and issuing updates for Fedora 10. It is Fedora's policy to close all bug reports from releases that are no longer maintained. At that time this bug will be closed as WONTFIX if it remains open with a Fedora 'version' of '10'. Package Maintainer: If you wish for this bug to remain open because you plan to fix it in a currently maintained version, simply change the 'version' to a later Fedora version prior to Fedora 10's end of life. Bug Reporter: Thank you for reporting this issue and we are sorry that we may not be able to fix it before Fedora 10 is end of life. If you would still like to see this bug fixed and are able to reproduce it against a later version of Fedora please change the 'version' of this bug to the applicable version. If you are unable to change the version, please add a comment here and someone will do it for you. Although we aim to fix as many bugs as possible during every release's lifetime, sometimes those efforts are overtaken by events. Often a more recent Fedora release includes newer upstream software that fixes bugs or makes them obsolete. The process we are following is described here: http://fedoraproject.org/wiki/BugZappers/HouseKeeping
I just verified this on f12 as well. Updating version.
I've been playing with eclipse-mylyn on my current version of F-12. I can see the flags, at least (fedora-review, fedora-cvs, fedora_required and needinfo). I cannot: Change the needinfo flag (gives invalid status when I enter an e-mail, cannot match names) See External Bugs See 'Restrict Group Visibility' Close bugs (see the Eclipse.org external bug) Kevin, if you've got time, what works/doesn't work for you? I'm using eclipse-mylyn-3.2.1-2.fc12.noarch, and within Eclipse the Mylyn version is 3.2.1v20090722-0200-e3x Thanks!
As an addendum, changing the needinfo flag works fine in Mylyn 3.2.2. -Charley
Its odd. Some bugs do show up with flags and others have no attributes section at all. ;( I fear I need to somehow reset my env, but not sure how to do so. ;(
(In reply to comment #15) > I fear I need to somehow reset my env, but not sure how to do so. ;( If you mean blow away all previous stuff, try both a new workspace (-data flag on the command line when launching eclipse) and removing your cached settings which are stored in ~/.eclipse.
Created attachment 377505 [details] Deployable jars I've tested this on Red Hat Bugzilla as well as the old test bugzilla. The current test version of 3.4 is currently down, but back when it wasn't down this plugin worked there too. It should be recognized as a separate connector from the regular Bugzilla connector. I'll see about maybe getting this into an update site or somesuch. Side note: This connector currently also works in the same places that the regular Bugzilla connector works.
The update site for the RHBZ connector is here: http://chwang.fedorapeople.org/org.eclipse.mylyn.rhbugzilla-site/ The connector should be able to close, reopen and show flags. You will need the latest version of the Mylyn Task List, available from this update site: http://download.eclipse.org/tools/mylyn/update/e3.4 Please note that on occasion the static configuration for Red Hat Bugzilla will be unreachable -- there is currently no solid fix for this, though hopefully this will be changed in the future.
I'm getting a bit lost here. ;) You want me to download those jars and stick them somewhere, and/or update mylyn from upstream? What about the Fedora package here? Can't it be made to work with a Fedora package update?
Sorry Kevin -- Try this: Using the Eclipse installation manager... 1. Install the Red Hat Bugzilla Connector from http://chwang.fedorapeople.org/org.eclipse.mylyn.rhbugzilla-site/ 2. Update your Mylyn Task List to the latest version from http://download.eclipse.org/tools/mylyn/update/e3.4 WRT inclusion in a Fedora package, I'm not sure. I'm still kind of hoping Mylyn upstream will come out with a permanent solution that will work for all Bugzillas, which would be better than having to maintain a separate connector just to get functionality with Red Hat Bugzilla.
Charley, should we close this as UPSTREAM? Can you give us a brief rundown of the work you've done upstream to get this working out of the box?
Sure Andrew. Changes to Eclipse Mylyn will account for issues with the custom workflow. The next version of Mylyn should include a feature that will pull custom workflow information directly from the Bugzilla XMLRPC client, which will allow users to use the Red Hat Bugzilla custom workflow without having to do any extra configuration on their end. As a backup, users should also be able to create a custom workflow description file manually if they wish. I will close the bug as UPSTREAM, pending these features hitting a major release. Thanks :)
