Go to a webpage with mms:// streams. IE. http://www.nrk.no/nett-tv/indeks/161772/ 2. Watch the player not play the movie 3. Right click the movie and select "Open with Movie Player" Actual results: Error message from Totem Expected results: The movie should play fine Additional info: Here is the mms-link for one of the movies. mms://straumod.nrk.no/disk09/Nytt_pa__nytt/2009-02-27/Nytt_p__nytt_27_02_09_1000_468219_20090227_205500.wmv Simply changing the "mms://" to "http://" plays the movie without a problem in Totem, so it is NOT a codec issue. I also tried gst-launch playbin2 uri=mms://straumod.nrk.no/disk09/Nytt_pa__nytt/2009-02-27/Nytt_p__nytt_27_02_09_1000_468219_20090227_205500.wmv Setting pipeline to PAUSED ... Btw. the same issue exist in Fedora 10 too. I just reported it from my rawhide-laptop, so I don't have the exact version of gstreamer* and totem* here (but the F10 computer was updated today)
gstreamer-plugins-bad (in which you'll find mmssrc) isn't shipped by Fedora, but by a third-party. File a bug against this repo, or upstream at http://bugzilla.gnome.org
