Description of problem:
when i run it from shell:
# fwbackups
python: can't open file '/fwbackups/fwbackups-runapp.pyw': [Errno 2] No such file or directory

What arguments are you supplying to ./configure?

./configure --prefix=/usr

Hm, looks like @datadir@ isn't being set automatically. Does using --datadir=/usr/share work (and install the files to /usr/share/fwbackups)?

This bug appears to have been reported against 'rawhide' during the Fedora 11 development cycle.
Changing version to '11'.
