X wedged with a moving mouse pointer but everything else unresponsive. Kernel logs contained an out of memory error from i915, followed by [drm:i915_gem_busy_ioctl] *ERROR* Bad handle in i915_gem_busy_ioctl(): 0 errors. X had been upgraded since the server was started and so I couldn't gdb it. Killing the X server from the console seemed to work, but the machine wedged entirely when the new server tried to start.
