Description of problem: To enable PXE functionality, several pxelinux/elilo/yaboot files (such as the executables and related menu files) need to be placed in the /tftpboot/ directory on a Satellite. Cobbler does this for you if you run a 'cobbler sync'; however, during Satellite installation, this command is not run and these files are thereby not present in this directory unless the user has run this command manually. Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): 530, 5/1 build How reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Install a 530 Satellite 2. ls /tftpboot/ Actual results: No bootloader-related files appear Expected results: Files such as pxelinux.0 and related menu files appear in this directory Additional info:
We do provide cobbler sync functionality through the UI. Goto http://<host>//rhn/admin/config/Cobbler.do . Question is do we want this PXE functionality enabled by default. I'll update this comment after discussing with mmccune, jsherrill and mdehaan...
Well if it's as simple as running 'cobbler sync' at the end of the satellite setup, i'd say why not ? I don't think we should enable pxe by default per say (including enabling dhcp), but if it keeps the users from having to run one more step why not just run 'cobbler sync' for them ?
Ok added cobbler sync to cobbler-setup -> http://git.fedorahosted.org/git/?p=spacewalk.git;a=commit;h=a0f430bcd1287b9dd5dc9ba45fa1d53c078cff4a

VERIFIED on 5/21 build.
