Description Allen Kistler 2009-05-09 02:34:50 UTC
Description of problem:
Booting from the Preview DVD and installing with ks=floppy results in a dialog saying NetworkManager is configuring the interface ("Waiting for NetworkManager to configure eth0..."), despite the fact that the install is entirely local (DVD + floppy). Switching to a text console allows me to verify that eth0 is, indeed, up and configured.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
anaconda-11.5.0.47 (on the Preview DVD)

How reproducible:
Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Boot to the DVD
2. Put a floppy with ks.cfg in the floppy drive (remember those?)
3. Add "ks=floppy" to the boot options

Actual results:
"Waiting for NetworkManager to configure eth0..."

Expected results:
Configure NICs only if they're needed. In this case, don't configure any.

Additional info:
Just *after* the NIC is configured is when anaconda figures out that the installation is local ("Local installation media detected"). It seems a little backwards, but the installation runs smoothly otherwise.

Comment 1 Allen Kistler 2009-06-03 23:20:57 UTC
