Red Hat Bugzilla – Bug 501842
sosreport is missing batch mode
Last modified: 2016-04-26 11:10:56 EDT
+++ This bug was initially created as a clone of Bug #500134 +++
Description of problem:
sos-1.7-9.16.el5_3.5 does not support --batch option found in sos-1.8-9.fc10.noarch:
--batch do not ask any question (batch mode)
This is need to produce non-interactive diagnostics reports by vdsm.
Possible workaround is to run: printf "\n\n\n" | sosreport
but it's cleaner to backport --batch option to RHEL5 sos.
Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
Steps to Reproduce:
1. sosreport --batch
sosreport: error: no such option: --batch
sos report is generated

There is a --name, --ticket option in rhel5/4 sosreport. But I agree as I'd like to backport this batch option to this branch. Please duplicate for rhel5 as well

Sos now includes a batch mode, in which it does not ask any questions during its run. Batch mode is invoked with the --batch option.
