Description Gary Case 2009-07-21 18:27:27 UTC
Description of problem:
Error appeared on RHEL6 x86_64 when I reinserted the install DVD into the USB DVD drive post install. For the record, this disc and drive were used to perform the install of this system. The error is:

Unable to mount RHEL/6.0 x86_64 Disc 1

org.freedesktop.DeviceKit.Disks.Error.Failed:
Error creating moint point: No such file or
directory

(I didn't misspell "mount", the dialog says "moint point")

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
RHEL6 alpha, I'm guessing this is part of the devicekit package.

DeviceKit-00301.x86_64

How reproducible:
Every time I insert a disc

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Log in
2. Insert DVD
3. Error appears

Actual results:
Error message

Expected results:
Mounted disc

Comment 1 Gary Case 2009-07-21 18:35:20 UTC
Okay, this has nothing to do with Gnome and everything to do with the name of the disc. The disc has been named with a '/' in the title, which screws up everything.

Comment 4 Gary Case 2009-07-21 19:28:43 UTC
Can we make sure this gets fixed before RHEL6 is launched?

Comment 5 Dennis Gregorovic 2009-09-16 02:10:50 UTC
I've checked in a change to the compose scripts so that the name will be "RHEL_6.0" instead of "RHEL/6.0".

Comment 6 Bill Nottingham 2009-12-16 22:06:37 UTC
Please test with Alpha3.

Comment 7 Gary Case 2010-01-04 18:06:33 UTC
Fix confirmed. The disc shows RHEL_6.0 in the name and it automounts correctly.

Comment 8 Alexander Todorov 2010-05-03 10:42:34 UTC
Thanks Gary, changing status to VERIFIED.

Comment 9 William Lovaton 2010-07-21 00:12:27 UTC
Hello there,

I'm having a similar problem using RHEL 6 Beta 2 as a kvm virtual machine on a Fedora 13 host. When I connect the CDROM in the VM to the ISO DVD file Gnome (in the VM) does not mount the DVD. It just shows "Blank DVD Disc" icon preventing me from browsing the files.

If I "mount /dev/cdrom /mnt" as root it works fine but it does not work automatically as it have always been in Gnome. As an example, a Fedora 13 guest works as expected when connecting and disconnecting the an ISO file from virt-manager.

Is this related or should I file a new bug?

Comment 10 Dennis Gregorovic 2010-07-21 01:06:20 UTC
I would suggest a new bug.

Comment 11 William Lovaton 2010-07-21 14:43:31 UTC
Ok, I forgot to ask an important question in my last comment: what the package would be? hal? udev? nautilus? I'm not really sure where to file it.

Thanks.

Comment 12 Dennis Gregorovic 2010-07-22 14:06:30 UTC
devicekit would be the best place to start

Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6.0 is now available and should resolve
the problem described in this bug report. This report is therefore being closed
with a resolution of CURRENTRELEASE. You may reopen this bug report if the
solution does not work for you.
