Description of problem:
All configuration step in anaconda work but the last : install redhat linux
to hard drive reboot the computer

How reproducible:
Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1.Just install linux redhat

I think it's a big kernel bug :
it happened the same thing on debian linux , linux redhat 7.1 with just
installation kernel (2.4.2) work fine.
My system reboot with all kernel vanilla,linus & alancox since 2.4.5
(latest tested 2.4.7-ac10)

Ok I'm lost here a bit. What exactly happens?
It doesn't reboot ?
It oopses before rebooting ?
The installed kernel doesn't boot ?

Kernel crash and computer reboot before files copy to the hard drive.So
installation can't finish.
I think it's not a system instability because other OS or Linux release work
perfectly.

Ok if you still feel like testing, could you please try the following options
(type it on the syslinux prompt):

linux ide=nodma
linux nobiospnp

I have tried you're kernel option bug there are no effect.
After i remove my sound blaser live because there's a bug on the VIA southbridge
chipset. Both via south bridge & sound blaster live didn't work.
I don't now if new kernel fix this bug.

We (Red Hat) should really try to fix this before next release.

VIA provided work arounds for the chpset problem which have been in all RH
errata/current kernels for supported products now. Please re-open the bug if it
still happens with RH9
