Sorry for the late reply, I was on vacation. Unfortunately, I can't reproduce this on a GNOME desktop, with all updates installed. Are you running this via ssh or similarly?
It's probably that PolicyKit on my system is broken and because of that not providing the password dialog. But, s-c-s probably should not crash anyway. I guess Error Msg on DBusException might be necessary.
