Description Shad L. Lords 2009-10-26 21:17:21 UTC
Description of problem:
el4 since update 5 has had a higher version then el5 so upgrades won't pickup changes to dmraid

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):

el4.4 - dmraid-1.0.0.rc11-3_RHEL4_U4
el4.5 - dmraid-1.0.0.rc14-5_RHEL4_U5
el4.6 - dmraid-1.0.0.rc14-6_RHEL4_U5
el4.7 - dmraid-1.0.0.rc14-9_RHEL4_U7

el5.2 - dmraid-1.0.0.rc13-15.el5
el5.3 - dmraid-1.0.0.rc13-33.el5
el5.4 - dmraid-1.0.0.rc13-53.el5

Actual results:

Any system that started as at least a el4.5 box that has been upgraded to el5 won't pick up updates for dmraid because el5 versions are lower

Expected results:

el5 upgraded systems will pick up updates/changes to dmraid

I got the requirement to keep the rc13 version in the EL5 series early during that series and the increment of the el4 version happened by mistake.
In case we need to change this to address the issue, who'll be the decision maker increment the el5 version ?
