Screenshot for Malayalam font in anaconda installer

Description of problem:
The Malayalam font appears small in the anaconda installer for rawhide-20091028. Default font for Fedora is smc-meera-fonts. Relevant screenshot attached.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
anaconda 12.39
smc-meera-fonts -04.2-2.fc12

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Install rawhide selecting the language for installation as Malayalam
2. Observe the size of the Malayalam font

Actual results:
Font size for Malayalam text in anaconda is small making it difficult to read.

Expected results:
Font size of Malayalam should be readable.

Additional info:
The default desktop font size for Meera is correct and easy to read.

In the past, I believe these sorts of problems have generally been because of getting the DPI wrong. Can you attach /tmp/x.log?

Just to note that I can still see this with latest F12 (rawhide).

Comment 4 Bug Zapper 2009-11-16 14:34:37 UTC
This bug appears to have been reported against 'rawhide' during the Fedora 12 development cycle.
Changing version to '12'.

Comment 5 Praveen Arimbrathodiyil 2009-12-30 09:12:57 UTC
Correcting the size needs the use of a fontconfig rule available in smc-meera-fonts. Does Anaconda use this fontconfig feature? Desktop GTK applications uses it correctly.

Comment 6 Chris Lumens 2009-12-31 16:26:00 UTC
Can you attach the fontconfig blurb needed and I'll look at fixing it after we get back from the shutdown? Thanks.

fontconfig file for correct scaling of Meera font

fontconfig file is attached.

Comment 8 Chris Lumens 2010-01-04 16:13:32 UTC
Ah, we were including lots of stuff in /etc/fonts, but many of those files are symlinks back into /usr/share/fontconfig, which we were not including. This will be fixed in the next build of anaconda.

Comment 9 Chris Lumens 2010-01-05 20:48:28 UTC
Confirmed.
