Yeah... Too obvious issue: driver_interface.h: ------------------- ... #define JACK_DRIVER_NAME_MAX 15 ... char name[JACK_DRIVER_NAME_MAX+1]; /**< The parameter's name */ ... net_jack.c ---------- ... strcpy (params[i].name, "midi outchannels"); ... One byte more is passed by strcpy(). However, a solution should be smart - probably we can't change parameter names. Needs further investigation.
Oh, all other drivers mean 'O' and 'I' as out/input latency. Nothing common with midi channels. Looks like netjack driver wasn't updated...
Just to say I'm seeing this exact bug. I can't use abrt because I'm behind a rpoxy server. Dell Inspiron E1505 running vmpk...looks like you guys are on this --- I love the responsiveness of the opensource community!
Got this from a thread in FedoraForum.org (http://forums.fedoraforum.org/showthread.php?p=1293817&posted=1#post1293817): "I'm not quite sure if this is right, or if this is secure but, i've checked my ubuntu installation (where i can run jack with no problem at all) and the /dev/shm folder has writing permissions for everyone, so i've changed the permissions of that folder in my fedora installation and jack works fine as a normal user. Is it ok? is it safe?"
Can you update jack to 0.118? Maybe that has a fix for this.

Andy, I don't know where is the right place to discuss this. I want to have both jack and jack2 parallelly installable on Fedora. They are ABI compatible, but they have different codebase. You are probably familiar with this. We can probably achieve this with "alternatives" like java does. I would say, we should probably keep jack1 as the default, and the user can switch as he wants. Is it okay with you if I write up a SPEC file for jack2? But then we will have to modify jack1 package too, for "alternatives" usage.
(In reply to comment #18) > Andy, I don't know where is the right place to discuss this. The right place is fedora-devel@ ML. Related topic is: https://www.redhat.com/archives/fedora-devel-list/2009-November/msg00271.html
I replied on the devel ML. Let's continue there.
0.118 solved my problem.
YES!!! 0.118 fixes the problem. You have saved the day. Thank you SOOO MUCH. Now I can get my work done for the upcoming Christmas concert at my church. I'd love to send you a Christmas/ThankYou card - just drop me an email at ron at roncemer dot com with your mailing address. Thanks again, and God bless!
