Description Bruno Medeiros 2009-11-19 11:15:06 UTC
Description of problem:

After update from Fedora 11 to Fedora 12, my mouse started to malfunction. It works ok if I boot a Fedora 11 LiveCD or other system. The main two problems are:

1. When I physically move my mouse in the normal speed, the cursor stuck on the screen. To be able to move the cursor, I need to physically move the mouse extremely slow. And i this case the pointer moves so slow too. I tried that with all hardware DPI configurations.

2. Sometimes the cursor goes to a random position on the screen. Generally a position near the bottom left corner of the screen.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
When, I don't know the component that causes the problem, I will put some probably related ones:
xorg-x11-server-Xorg.x86_64 1.7.1-7.fc12
kernel.x86_64 2.6.31.5-127.fc12

How reproducible:
Always

There's no way to reproduce without the specific hardware. With hardware, do:
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Plug the mouse
2. Try to move

Actual results:
The problems described above occurs.

Expected results:
The mouse pointer moves smoothly on the screen.

Additional info:
I can reproduce that on LiveCD/USB boot too, so it's not a problem related with the upgrade.

If I boot with a Ubuntu liveCD, that also uses a 2.6.31 kernel, I have only the second problem described above, not the first.

I using another USB mouse, together with the problematic one, and it's working without problem, so it's hard to be some USB bus related problem.

I attached the dmesg log captured after boot.
How could I help to fix that?
