Description Jaroslav Franek 2009-11-21 23:26:27 UTC
Description of problem:
The game application made me feel like a world champion, when reporting that I had finished the hard game in 54 seconds (52 active), 36 hints. The real time was something about 12 minutes, though...

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
gnome-games-2.28.1-1.fc12.x86_64

How reproducible:
I just play and play and at the end of any game, the "quickie" results pop up

Steps to Reproduce:
1.
2.
3.

Actual results:
hard: 54 seconds (52 active), 36 hints
easy: 59 seconds (58 seconds active), 0 hints

Expected results:
hard: ~ 12 minutes
easy: ~ 5 minutes

Additional info:
Worked properly in F11

Comment 1 Jaroslav Franek 2009-11-23 23:10:10 UTC
(my) debug indicates that the game executes suddenly timer.pause_timing() in the middle of the game and does not continue with timer.resume_timing(), resulting in very short times reported at the end.

timing-started 1259016631.1
timing-stopped 1259016637.21
timing-started 1259016639.35
timing-stopped 1259016688.9
... game continued

When I tried window focus off/on during the game, I managed to get the time slightly higher, but still half of the real time spent on the game.

timing-started 1259016808.7
timing-stopped 1259016908.45
timing-started 1259016915.7
timing-stopped 1259016931.07
timing-started 1259016932.25
timing-stopped 1259016933.14
timing-started 1259016934.17
timing-stopped 1259016935.88
timing-started 1259016937.65
timing-stopped 1259016943.03
timing-started 1259016944.21
timing-stopped 1259016988.9
... game continued

Comment 2 Jaroslav Franek 2010-04-12 21:07:22 UTC
Just bumped into something similar at gnome bugzilla:

https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=556932

so I have set the external bug id. I hope it might help.

Comment 3 Jaroslav Franek 2010-05-09 19:34:52 UTC
Looks like the latest F13 update solved the issue (though the external bug is still in NEW state):

gnome-games-2.30.1-1.fc13.x86_64

I do not use F12 anymore, so I do not know whether it was fixed for F12 too.

Comment 4 Bug Zapper 2010-11-04 05:47:56 UTC
This message is a reminder that Fedora 12 is nearing its end of life.
Approximately 30 (thirty) days from now Fedora will stop maintaining
and issuing updates for Fedora 12. It is Fedora's policy to close all
bug reports from releases that are no longer maintained. At that time
this bug will be closed as WONTFIX if it remains open with a Fedora
'version' of '12'.

Package Maintainer: If you wish for this bug to remain open because you
plan to fix it in a currently maintained version, simply change the 'version'
to a later Fedora version prior to Fedora 12's end of life.

Bug Reporter: Thank you for reporting this issue and we are sorry that
we may not be able to fix it before Fedora 12 is end of life. If you
would still like to see this bug fixed and are able to reproduce it
against a later version of Fedora please change the 'version' of this
bug to the applicable version. If you are unable to change the version,
please add a comment here and someone will do it for you.

Although we aim to fix as many bugs as possible during every release's
lifetime, sometimes those efforts are overtaken by events. Often a
more recent Fedora release includes newer upstream software that fixes
bugs or makes them obsolete.

The process we are following is described here:
http://fedoraproject.org/wiki/BugZappers/HouseKeeping

Comment 5 Jaroslav Franek 2010-11-07 17:27:44 UTC
Work for me in F13 and F14. Can be closed.

Comment 6 Bug Zapper 2010-12-04 03:01:01 UTC
Fedora 12 changed to end-of-life (EOL) status on 2010-12-02. Fedora 12 is
no longer maintained, which means that it will not receive any further
security or bug fix updates. As a result we are closing this bug.

If you can reproduce this bug against a currently maintained version of
Fedora please feel free to reopen this bug against that version.

Thank you for reporting this bug and we are sorry it could not be fixed.
