From the pot file: 3796 #. Tag: para 3797 #: Multimedia.xml:67 3798 #, no-c-format 3799 msgid "" 3800 "<application>Fedora Studio</application> is an optional multimedia menus " 3801 "package that allows users to have their audio and video applications " 3802 "classified in their desktop menu. In previous versions of Fedora, all " 3803 "multimedia applications were in one large group. This package makes it " 3804 "easier for users to navigate audio and video applications." When this description was taken from the feature page [1], the dash "-" between "multimedia" and "menus" was dropped for some reason. This dash is very crucial. If you look at link [1], you will see that multimedia-menus is actually a link to an "application" that was also translated by the Fedora Translations team. "multimedia-menus" is an RPM package name; it must stay with the dash "-", and it must not be translated. I'm sorry, I thought this was clear. The current description gives above tells nothing to the user about what he should do to use this optional feature. Leaving "multimedia-menus" with the dash and keeping it untranslated will be an obvious hint. Please fix this. Thanks! [1] http://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Features/FedoraStudio#Release_Notes
Just an FYI on how to markup release notes in the wiki so they are converted properly, which includes how to markup a package name: https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Help:Editing#Marking_Technical_Terms Not sure what this string change is going to do to translations. It might be as simple as replacing the string, which should keep the same msgstr of 3800. Rebuilding PO and POT files might show fuzziness from the translation, but it might be just fine since it's a small substitution.
Thanks. I didn't even know about the existence of such a page.
