Description of problem: Since switching over to sha256sum for checksumming, this utility does not seem to be included or available in the "stage2" setup. If there are concerns over corruption during installation it makes sense to include it to allow the administrator appropriate tooling to self-diagnose problems. Currently both md5sum and sha1sum are available in "stage2". Please also ensure it is included in the most basic minimal install possible of the Fedora system. I have not tested or verified if this is already the case. Please also ensure it is included in the "rescue mode". THIS REPORT IS MADE TO PROVIDE FEEDBACK TO CONCERNS MADE DURING A FEDORA12 INSTALLATION.
Basesystem is just dependency metapackage with no content - not a good component for that bugzilla. Utility sha256sum is a part of coreutils package, in rescue mode there is only busybox available. So reassigning to busybox - as this is the package where this could be addressed (maybe).
busybox-1.15.1-4.fc12 already includes sha256sum. Looks like F12 and F13 already have this version in updates. Closing this bug. Please reopen if problem persists.
