Summary: SELinux is preventing /usr/bin/qemu-system-x86_64 "getattr" access on /media/1A46ACA246AC7FDD/Fedora12/Fedora-12-x86_64-DVD/Fedora-12-x86_64-DVD.iso. Detailed Description: SELinux denied access requested by qemu-system-x86. It is not expected that this access is required by qemu-system-x86 and this access may signal an intrusion attempt. It is also possible that the specific version or configuration of the application is causing it to require additional access. Allowing Access: You can generate a local policy module to allow this access - see FAQ (http://fedora.redhat.com/docs/selinux-faq-fc5/#id2961385) Please file a bug report. How do you mount a fuse file system at /media? Eric what needs to be done to make fuse support labeling?
I don't understand why this is a fuse mount... How was this iso image mounted? As to labeling on fuse, well, we don't have a good solution.
I am having the same exact issue on a fresh install of Fedora 12 x86_64. I have an external USB drive (formatted to NTFS) that has my ISO's and original VM's created under KVM in Fedora 11. I had no problems mounting the drive, or using virt-manager to access my ISO images to build VM's. However, after my upgrade I get the same issues as the original poster about the access issue. There is another error that appears to be related to this one where when I try to create a new VM, I browse to my ISO file (on my NTFS drive), and then it gives me an error stating that virt-manager may not have permissions to view my ISO file. So I click "OK" to try and have it correct itself, but then I get this message: /media/FreeAgent Drive : setfacl: /media/FreeAgent Drive: Operation not supported /media/FreeAgent Drive/ISOs : setfacl: /media/FreeAgent Drive/ISOs: Operation not supported /media/FreeAgent Drive/ISOs/CentOS-5.4-i386-bin-DVD : setfacl: /media/FreeAgent Drive/ISOs/CentOS-5.4-i386-bin-DVD: Operation not supported Then that's when I notice the AVC message stated earlier. I found a forum message where someone was able to get around this by mounting their drive with the ACL option here: http://forums.fedoraforum.org/showthread.php?t=236318&highlight=qemu-kvm+denied+access However, I have not been able to get my USB drive to mount with the ACL option (fuse is being a complete bonehead). I consider this a regression since this was not an issue with Fedora 11.
This message is a reminder that Fedora 12 is nearing its end of life. Approximately 30 (thirty) days from now Fedora will stop maintaining and issuing updates for Fedora 12. It is Fedora's policy to close all bug reports from releases that are no longer maintained. At that time this bug will be closed as WONTFIX if it remains open with a Fedora 'version' of '12'. Package Maintainer: If you wish for this bug to remain open because you plan to fix it in a currently maintained version, simply change the 'version' to a later Fedora version prior to Fedora 12's end of life. Bug Reporter: Thank you for reporting this issue and we are sorry that we may not be able to fix it before Fedora 12 is end of life. If you would still like to see this bug fixed and are able to reproduce it against a later version of Fedora please change the 'version' of this bug to the applicable version. If you are unable to change the version, please add a comment here and someone will do it for you. Although we aim to fix as many bugs as possible during every release's lifetime, sometimes those efforts are overtaken by events. Often a more recent Fedora release includes newer upstream software that fixes bugs or makes them obsolete. The process we are following is described here: http://fedoraproject.org/wiki/BugZappers/HouseKeeping
