Summary: SELinux is preventing /usr/bin/python "write" access on /usr/share/hplip/prnt. Detailed Description: SELinux denied access requested by python. It is not expected that this access is required by python and this access may signal an intrusion attempt. It is also possible that the specific version or configuration of the application is causing it to require additional access. Allowing Access: You can generate a local policy module to allow this access - see FAQ (http://fedora.redhat.com/docs/selinux-faq-fc5/#id2961385) Please file a bug report. The source type 'hplip_t' can write to a 'dir' of the following types: # hplip_tmp_t, hplip_var_lib_t, hplip_var_run_t, tmp_t, print_spool_t, cupsd_tmp_t, var_run_t, root_t allow hplip_t usr_t:dir write;
The problem here has to do with python trying to write its compiled executables in the /usr/share/hplip/prnt directory. If you go to this directory and run # python /usr/share/hplip/prnt/*.py It should compile all of the python and remove the avc. Not sure if this is a cups/hplip problem or something else causing the pyc and pyo files not to get updated correctly.
