This happens on a regular F12 installation; I'm running GNOME.

Hi Itamar, I'm right now using the latest available in F12 repos, which is qt-1:4.5.3-9.fc12.i686. I'll try with the newer one you linked and report back.
it's my fault, I have pushed qt-creator without checking if required qt version are the repository rdieter will push the required qt version soon with the new version of kde
Works for me now after the last qt updates.
