Red Hat Bugzilla – Bug 570537
AIM protocol broken, clientLogin issues
Last modified: 2013-09-23 07:04:00 EDT
+++ This bug was initially created as a clone of Bug #570535 +++
A few weeks ago AIM changed their servers in a way that breaks AIM logins with default pidgin configuration. A workaround exists that involves turning off secure authentication. Upstream recommends the following two patches against our pidgin-2.6.6 for a bugfix update.
Fix SSL clientLogin
Fix clientLogin with configured proxy
We should fix this in both RHEL-4 and RHEL-5.
