From Bugzilla Helper: User-Agent: Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows NT 4.0) Description of problem: When clients cancel a sz session from a 7.1 Linux server the sz programs dumps a core file. Long file transmissions using zip files tend to fail and report crc and bad subpacket errors more frequently. Most notably after upgrading past kernel 2.4.3-6. Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): How reproducible: Sometimes Steps to Reproduce: 1. Upgrade system from RedHat Network using kernel 7.1 2.4.3-6. 2. Try receiving large zip files over dialup connection. 3. Successful transmissions are rare.... Actual Results: The transmissions act like there are buffer overruns and the client gets abnormal number of CRC or bad subpacket failures which did not occur on original kernel. Expected Results: More consistant transmission successes, less failure, or more recovery. Additional info: Problem did not persist until system was upgraded from the RedHat network. The lrzsz if flaky fro mtime to time anyhow, but it should not seg fault when client cancels a download. As for the persistant failures this could be any number of things distorded by the kernel and or package upgrades, mor than likely a driver problem.
