Description Alexander Todorov 2010-06-11 10:21:16 UTC
Description of problem:
On one of the test systems in Beaker I saw this in the logs:

[drm:radeon_dvi_detect] *ERROR* DVI-I-1: probed a monitor but no|invalid EDID

The test case has executed without problems and I don't know if this is a bug or not.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
0603.1 tree, not quire sure which component. Feel free to re-assign.

Comment 2 Alexander Todorov 2010-06-11 10:24:53 UTC
Looking more closely into /var/log/messages I see this is coming from kernel. Re-assigning.

Comment 3 Jérôme Glisse 2010-06-11 14:08:43 UTC
Some monitor/kvm have broken edid the driver report it as error and use safe list mode, worst outcome is monitor not being use in it's native resolution or monitor not working with our default mode (which is very unlikely). There is nothing we can do. Such message can be disregarded and is mostly usefull to us when debugging modesetting, so i am closing this bug.
