Error report file generated by the Soundcard detection system utility

Description of problem:
Cannot access the sound driver/card from any software, including system tools.
Each time I try to access the sound card I get a note: "Could not open audio device for playback."

"audiotestsrc wave=sine freq=512 ! audioconvert ! audioresample ! gconfaudiosink profile=chat: Could not open audio device for playback."

gconfaudiosrc ! audioconvert ! audioresample ! gconfaudiosink profile=chat: Could not open audio device for playback.

How reproducible:
I am not sure. See the attached file generated by the Soundcard detection system utility.

Closing, bug if the problem persists with the latest RHEL5 release, reopen and attach output from 'alsa-info.sh --no-upload'.
