Description lethalwp 2010-07-10 15:45:58 UTC
Description of problem:
the init script of acpid checks for /proc/acpi/event file, which isn't present in the shipped 2.6.35rc kernel, maybe it has been deprecated and replaced by another way of getting events; if i remove the check, acpid works ok.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
on kernel 2.6.35-0.29.rc4.git0.fc14.x86_64 #1 SMP Wed Jul 7 23:00:35 UTC 2010 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux

How reproducible:

Steps to Reproduce:
1. /etc/init.d/acpid start
Actual results:
nothing shown

Expected results:
'acpid has been started'
