I checked that the gpk-update-icon is checked-off in System-Preferences-Startup Applications. ps aux |grep -i gpk-update-icon # it is listed But the software update notification (signaled by panel icon) has not worked for the past 2 weeks or so. Already fixed in https://admin.fedoraproject.org/updates/gnome-packagekit-2.30.3-1.fc13 -- this should only affects people who modified the update filter and updated the version of PK before the GPK version. I'll do a PackageKit new release next week that adds gnome-packagekit to the infrastructure packages and it'll get automatically downloaded.
