How to reproduce
-----
1. Modified gmixer, per https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=537803, by adding the line:
       sep = gtk.VSeparator()
   after line 1012. This helps when I run gmixer interactively, but...
2. Boot and log in to system. The message box telling me that gmixer crashed appears immediately
