Xorg.log from a crash instance

Description of problem:
When playing any video, X freezes. Mouse pointer still works. Sound still works. Video appears to be playing (sound continues). X-server is non-recoverable without a reboot. Simply resetting X-server doesn't work.
Can get to another vt to reboot cleanly.

Oddly, viewing an flv in the browser (eg YouTube) is OK.
Using mplayer externally to view a, flv results in X-server hang.

Have tried the work-arounds described for previous releases of fedora (nomodeset, "Option AccelMethod EXA" & "Option AccelMethod XAA"). None fixed the problem.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):xorg-x11-drv-intel-2.11.0-5.fc13.i686

How reproducible: 100%

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Use xine, mplayer, dragon etc to view a video or DVD
2.
3.

Actual results:
X-server hangs (freezes)

Expected results:
Video plays, X-server continues.

Additional info:
Kernel: 2.6.33.6-147.2.4.fc13.i686
Hardware: IBM ThinkPad R51 Type 2887

(I don't have a xorg.conf)

I have this too, this might be a duplicate of bug 593220, it has similar symptoms.

Comment 3 Roo 2010-08-21 05:32:57 UTC
Yes probably a duplicate of bug 593220.

At least the info in that bug enabled me to play videos by changing the driver from xv.
