Description of problem: I have an x86_64 system with an ATI Radeon HD 5770 and I cannot install F14 because my screen turns off immediately after anaconda starts. Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): anaconda 14.15 How reproducible: every time I try to install F14 Steps to Reproduce: 1. boot up with the F14 x86_64 DVD ISO (2010-08-24); 2. select "Install a new system or upgrade existing system"; 3. "Test disc" or "Skip test" - it doesn't matter; 4. sit and wait for less than one or two minutes. Actual results: within a couple minutes after "Local installation media found", the screen turns off. Expected results: I should be able to install F14 graphically. Additional information: four-core processor (Intel), two hard drives, I have not tried to install F14 with "basic video driver"...
Similar for me: After starting anaconda the screen goes black. My video card is ATI Radeon 9200, and I booted with Fedora-14-Alpha-i386-netinst.iso. Is it related with the bug included in https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Common_F14_bugs?
Adding the 'nomodeset' parameter at the boot screen I could install in graphic mode.
Thanks for the bug report. We have reviewed the information you have provided above, and there is some additional information we require that will be helpful in our diagnosis of this issue. Please remove nomodeset, and add 3 and drm.debug=0x04 to the kernel command line, then restart computer, and login in the text mode as normal user. Then run startx command, and when it fails, attach * your X server config file (/etc/X11/xorg.conf, if available), * X server log file (/var/log/Xorg.*.log) * output of the dmesg command, and * system log (/var/log/messages) to the bug report as individual uncompressed file attachments using the bugzilla file attachment link above. We will review this issue again once you've had a chance to attach this information. Thanks in advance.

I hope you wanted this all from F13, because that's where I got it. since there has been no new release, I still can't install F14 alpha.
(In reply to comment #3) I removed nomodeset, and added 3 and drm.debug=0x04. After restart I could start X with startx. Anyway, I attach the logs.

apologies if this is what you wanted before; it was unspecified whether or not you wanted these files from Fedora 13 or Fedora 14. the latest four files are all from my install of Fedora 14 (appropriately labelled with "on F14"), which I was able to do only because I added 'nomodeset' to the installation command line. thanks to Zoltan for pointing it out.
This message is a notice that Fedora 14 is now at end of life. Fedora has stopped maintaining and issuing updates for Fedora 14. It is Fedora's policy to close all bug reports from releases that are no longer maintained. At this time, all open bugs with a Fedora 'version' of '14' have been closed as WONTFIX. (Please note: Our normal process is to give advanced warning of this occurring, but we forgot to do that. A thousand apologies.) Package Maintainer: If you wish for this bug to remain open because you plan to fix it in a currently maintained version, feel free to reopen this bug and simply change the 'version' to a later Fedora version. Bug Reporter: Thank you for reporting this issue and we are sorry that we were unable to fix it before Fedora 14 reached end of life. If you would still like to see this bug fixed and are able to reproduce it against a later version of Fedora, you are encouraged to click on "Clone This Bug" (top right of this page) and open it against that version of Fedora. Although we aim to fix as many bugs as possible during every release's lifetime, sometimes those efforts are overtaken by events. Often a more recent Fedora release includes newer upstream software that fixes bugs or makes them obsolete. The process we are following is described here: http://fedoraproject.org/wiki/BugZappers/HouseKeeping
