Just using Scribus as normal 2. The only think I can think of as unusual is I used an existing file as a starting point, saved it under a different name and changed the paper size on all pages.

This appears to happen consistently when selecting a text box and selecting spell check from the Item menu.

Also the backtrace I get is different from the attached one. Could you please create a new report from the crash that happens when reproducing the steps from comment #2? Maybe we have 2 different crashes here.
