Description Stephen Long 2002-04-19 14:52:20 EDT
From Bugzilla Helper:
User-Agent: Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 5.01; Windows NT)

Description of problem:
This is repeatable. When I install with just one additional package, the KDE
package, the screen test at the last step of the install fails. When I
continue the install after several screen test failures the next step in the
install is the "finish and reboot". When this occurs and the text mode screen
appears showing the shutdown, I can see an error message for each of the
previous screen test failures. The message states that an Xlib routinue is
missing. Everything installs fine when I don't install the KDE package.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):

How reproducible:
Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1.Do a Linux only install with custom package selection. Select all packages
including both Gnome and KDE ( do not select NFS, DNS, IPX, and Linux Network
Management)
2.I have an onboard ATI RAGE XL card with 8 meg and everything works fine when
I don't also install KDE.
3.I think a KDE only install also works. (I will try it again tonight to
confirm)

Actual Results: During the reboot at the end in the install I saw the "missing
Xlib ???? routine messages on the text screen during the shutdown.

Expected Results: Should be able to install both GNOME and KDE and later
change which one the default window.

Comment 1 Stephen Long 2002-04-22 10:33:41 EDT
I tried leaving out the Windows compatibility package and was able to
successfully install both the Gnome and KDE packages at the same time. The
problem must be in the Windows compatiblilty package.
