+++ This bug was initially created as a clone of Bug #223680 +++ compat-gcc-34's install-info use in scriptlets is not failsafe, fix attached. More info: http://www.redhat.com/archives/fedora-maintainers/2007-January/msg00017.html --- Additional comment from ville.skytta on 2007-01-21 15:28:40 EST --- Created attachment 146103 [details] Make install-info use in scriptlets failsafe --- Additional comment from jakub on 2007-03-03 11:58:47 EST --- Fixed in compat-gcc-34-3.4.6-7 in rawhide. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ This fix was (probably) inherited from Rawhide to current 5.6 Fast erratum. We have the fix in erratum already but not corresponding bug. QE policy here is to stay on safe side and have a approved bug per fix. From what I can see here http://cvs.devel.redhat.com/cgi-bin/cvsweb.cgi/rpms/compat-gcc-34/RHEL-5/compat-gcc-34.spec.diff?r1=1.5;r2=1.6;f=h this is no risk fix in specfile. Please approve this bug to 5.6 Fast.

Technical note added. If any revisions are required, please edit the "Technical Notes" field accordingly. All revisions will be proofread by the Engineering Content Services team. New Contents: Previously, compat-gcc-34-g77 %post and %preun rpm scriptlets could fail upon install-info failures. Such failures are now ignored.
