Description of problem: I'm using Fedora 14 beta. I did a yum upgrade, and then tried to install the package gupnp-devel Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): Fedora 14 Beta How reproducible: Steps to Reproduce: 1. yum -y upgrade # to get latest packages (this upgrades libuuid) 2. yum -y install gupnp-devel Actual results: Transaction Check Error: package libuuid-2.18-4.4.fc14.x86_64 (which is newer than libuuid-2.18-4.3.fc14.i686) is already installed Expected results: Package should be updated to use the latest libuuid package.
An upgrade from the beta to final will update the fedora-release package as part of that process which by default will disable the updates-testing repository which is enabled in the Beta. You'll find your fedora-updates-testing repo has been disabled which is where the latest libuuid resides.
