Looks mostly great except of that ~/.local/share may can contain unneeded dirs like ~/.local/share/Trash and ~/.local/share/evolution. Also various caches could be stored there. But this is likely something to discuss upstream.

hmmm, Two trashes, I believe  ~/.local/share/Trash and ~/.Trash .

~/.local/share/evolution should not be an issue on EL5.

Right, I was only checking my modern F15 system, app storage may change from version to version.
