Description Kenichi Takemura 2010-12-13 04:45:45 UTC
Description of problem:

Konqueror supports File browsing, even editing files. I tried to open a text file and edit it with VI: Input Mode. When I type some Japanese characters and commit them, the cursor disappears.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
kdebase-4.5.4-1.fc14.x86_64

How reproducible:
100%

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Launch konqueror(Application -> Internet -> Konqueror)
2. Open a text file in konqueror(File -> Open File)
3. Edit -> VI Input Mode
4. Press i to change to VI: INSERT MODE
5. Turn IBus-Anthy on and type some Japanese (eg. Sa-ku-ra) and hit enter to commit.

Actual results:
Cursor disappears.

Expected results:
Cursor is set to the next position.

Additional info:
When you press some keys like key arrows, backspace...the cursor is back.

That looks like a lot of changes has been made in konqueror on f16 say. I can't follow up on the above steps to reproduce this. so that would be nice to update how to reproduce this and check if it works on the latest version...

I tried this in F16. It seems konqueror does not support editing any more. I used kwrite to edit and re-load the file and it works.
