Red Hat Bugzilla – Bug 667434
RHEV: "single" kernel boot argument should be added to kill list
Last modified: 2011-07-27 10:41:29 EDT
+++ This bug was initially created as a clone of Bug #667414 +++ "single" kernel boot argument should be added to kill list and shouldn't be stored in /etc/default/ovirt. Storing this argument can make the host boot into single user mode on each boot. --- Additional comment from pm-rhel@redhat.com on 2011-01-05 10:13:18 EST --- Since this issue was entered in bugzilla, the release flag has been set to ? to ensure that it is properly evaluated for this release.
Created attachment 473916 [details] Patch Test: boot with single in kernel command line arguments Check /etc/default/ovirt for single option reboot afterwards, and ensure that single is not set
Verified on rhev-h 5.7-1: 1. After install, cat /etc/default/ovirt, no single option 2. Boot with single, cat /etc/default/ovirt, no single option 3. Reboot, not enter single mode. Change bug status to verified.
Technical note added. If any revisions are required, please edit the "Technical Notes" field accordingly. All revisions will be proofread by the Engineering Content Services team. New Contents: Previously, the single user mode argument was stored in "/etc/default/ovirt", which caused the host boot in single user mode on every boot. This is fixed and the "single" kernel boot argument is added to the kill list to prevent single user mode for each boot.
