The event is not a master event but a detached event. It can be changed anyhow with not much influence on master event - it will not change times on the master event for sure. Maybe explain what you mean with "messed up" and then we can move a bit further.

Not able to reproduce this part any more.

Did you try to delete the event and reimport? You probably did, I'm only asking just in case. If you cannot reproduce, then I tend to close this.
