                          ImportError: No module named _weakref

Expected results:
No crash

Additional info:
This could be related to this recent change in the python package:
* Thu Dec 23 2010 David Malcolm <dmalcolm> - 2.7.1-1
[...]
- drop _weakref.so from manifest (_weakref became a core module in r84230)

I haven't yet been able to pinpoint the source of this problem, so this is just the only clue I have found so far.

Comment 1 Paul Bolle 2011-01-23 11:13:37 UTC
Installed were python-2.7.1-5.fc15, python-libs-2.7.1-5.fc15, and friends. Manually installing (downgrading) python-2.7-13.fc15, python-libs-2.7-13.fc15, etc. solves this crash.

Shall I move to component python?

Comment 2 Paul Bolle 2011-01-23 15:24:51 UTC
0) Rebuilding vim locally, against the current python packages (ie, python-2.7.1-5) solved this problem.

1) The solution seems to be: ship a vim rebuilt against python-2.7.1.

Comment 3 Karsten Hopp 2011-01-24 11:40:21 UTC
I've built vim-7.3.107-1.fc15, so the update should take care of this bug, too.
Please reopen if the problem still exists.
